My Journey on YouTube

I made an account on YouTube long ago, and the original content was more social commentary back when I was in my 20’s. I deleted most of that content and started uploading more art related stuff in my 30’s, and then I took a 2-3 year break. We all go through phases, and those were the stages of my channel at the time.

I researched other art YouTubers and the content they were putting out, and started producing my own. I started with time-lapse videos, usually featuring more time consuming pieces that took multiple parts to complete. Some of my more complex pieces were done this way. Here’s one of them here.

Recently, I’ve started doing smaller pieces that can be completed within a single time-lapse video. I’ve used smaller animals like bettafish, and treefrogs so far. I’m wanting to do more treefrogs, as there is definitely something addictive about them. I even just filmed a hognose snake drawing.

Back a few years ago, I also did several drawing tutorials. I covered pencil drawing and colored pencil techniques. I revamped an older tutorial on how to draw scales. You can watch it here.

I have other tutorials I’ll be working on producing in the coming weeks and months. I’ve never had a lot of traction on my youtube channel, but I do feel it’s worth doing to increase my online presence. You can view and subscribe to my channel here. https://www.youtube.com/@BlueLotus084/videos

I’ve also been adding some new art to my portfolio. Reptiles are my specialty, but I’ve been doing a few cat and dog portraits to show my versatility as an artist. I’m very happy with how this maincoon portrait turned out.

Until next time.
