For anyone who owns reptiles, accessories can come in many forms whether for you or your pets. These things can be used within their enclosures, as home décor, or even things used on a daily basis. I’ve personally used leashes, food dishes, net hammocks, and even towels or blankets. I’ve listed a few of the things I myself have made use of, and also things I wouldn’t mind having now.

Cork bark is a staple for many reptile keepers that want something extra to add natural elements to a habitat. This Etsy shop offers bulk orders that will give you a big bang for your buck. I use cork bark in both my tarantula and reptile enclosures. It’s resistant to mold, and gives my animals natural places to climb and hid in.

Enrichment has historically been overlooked in the case of reptiles, but times are changing. Research and experience is teaching us all that they benefit from many types of enrichment in the forms of climbing or exploring novel objects or structures. This store uses 3d printing to create structures that can be used by snakes and other reptiles.

As a previous bearded dragon owner, I absolutely had a lizard leash for safety reasons when I went on walks with mine on my shoulder. Not only is it a point of safety, but it can be a fashion statement, too. Some of these leashes come with dragon wings and multiple colors. Don’t let anyone tell you that you don’t really have a dragon.

If you feed insects to your lizards, you are acutely aware that they climb out and cause issues. Well, this dish helps keep them contained while your lizard eats at their leisure. I have used this for insects, and unless the insects are very large, they won’t be escaping.

I had this for my beardie and he loves these for just lounging. Made of natural materials and fairly easy to secure, these hammocks will last for a while. IF your beardie poops on this, I would personally replace it. Mine never did, but just in case it happens, replace it. There are also clothe hammocks custom made that ARE washable and may be a good alternative to these if that is a concern for you as an owner. Nonetheless, these worked well for my beardie during his time with me.

This company has grown so much over the years, and has a wide selection of products for those in the reptile and amphibian hobby. You’ll find heating, lighting, habitat accessories and décor for most commonly kept species. They also carry a wide variety of live plants and substrates for bioactive set ups. There are sections for live insects for insectivore species, live animals including captive bred invertebrates, reptiles and amphibians. I’ve used them personally, and have had nothing but good experiences.
I hope these were helpful additions for you and your reptiles as they were for me. Let me know if you have any recommendations of your own in the comments. What other products do you use for your reptiles or amphibians?
